A presentation of Farhana Satu’s portraits of women living on the Bagerhat River in Bangladesh, where rising salinity levels and persistent flooding are damaging women’s health, a process reflected in Satu’s salt-eroded images.
A live visual performance by photographer Zumrad Mirzalieva, whose photographers from along the dried-up Aral Sea in Uzbekistan portray a former port town living in the wake of over-extraction, still reverberating with the echoes of a lost sea.
Remarks by Alejandro Martin Rodriguez, fellow in the Sustainability, Climate, and Geopolitics Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where his research focuses on the social dimensions of climate change.

Reporting from the recent Bhotekoshi flood in Nepal by Uma Bista and Chemi Dorje.
Work by Kunga Tashi Lepcha, whose photographs along the Teesta river in Sikkim, northeast India honor the spiritual and ecological knowledge that has sustained his community’s decades-long resistance to the hydroelectric projects devastating their sacred lands.
Remarks by Shana Tabak, senior fellow and director of the Climate Mobility Project at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Both evenings will mark a chance to see Magnum Foundation’s current exhibition, Enduring Ecologies, featuring works that bear witness to four communities around the world transformed by environmental disruption. They were developed in Magnum Foundation’s Photography Expanded: Heat Fellowship, which supports new photographic storytelling about the climate crisis and the inextricable relationship of communities to land. A zine publication featuring all eighteen projects supported by the Heat Fellowship will also be available at the events.

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) is an umbrella policy & advocacy organization that represents over 200 immigrant and refugee rights groups throughout New York.
