See you opening night at Photoville! During the evening screenings, Magnum Foundation grantees Mackenzie Calle and Gareth Smit will present a preview of their forthcoming film The Gay Space Agency, which confronts the American space program’s historical exclusion of openly queer astronauts, reimagining a history of the space program that celebrates queerness and highlights LGBTQIA+ role models. The film is based on Mackenzie’s project of the same title, which was supported by Magnum Foundation’s Counter Histories Initiative and was exhibited at last summer’s Photoville.
