The Lingering Side Effects of Armed Conflict
“I hope the people who are seeing these pictures will open their eyes and will think about how the war isn’t finished when troops go home, that people are suffering for decades on,” says German photojournalist Christian Werner in a recent feature on TIME LightBox.
Werner was awarded a 2014 Magnum Foundation Emergency Fund grant to continue his work reporting on the lingering effects of chemically toxic depleted uranium in areas of past and on-going armed conflict.
