“I realized that the best way to deal with my own grief would be to photograph through it, to make images of the health care workers who had intimately cared for my dad during his illness and at the end of his life. We see these workers only when we need them, and in the case of this pandemic, we weren’t, as a nation, prepared to protect them.”
