Congratulations to Harlan Bozeman and Fred Ritchin on receiving the Guggenheim Fellowship, the prestigious award given to “exceptional individuals in pursuit of scholarship in any field of knowledge and creation in any art form.”
Harlan Bozeman, 2025 Counter Histories fellow, is an artist and educator from Central Arkansas, currently based in New Orleans, LA. His work confronts the erasure of Black legacies and considers how these suppressed histories continue to shape identity and personhood.
Fred Ritchin is a long-time friend and collaborator of Magnum Foundation. He previously co-directed our Photography and Social Justice Program. He has published three books on the future of imaging and lectures widely on photography, human rights, artificial intelligence, and alternative media.
Congrats to both!
