That’s a wrap on the 8th cycle of the Arab Documentary Photography Program!

Alongside the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture and the Prince Claus Fund, it’s been a joy to once again share space with this incredible group of photographers as part of our joint initiative to support creative production by imagemakers in the Arab region.

Gathering this past week in Beirut for their second of two intensive workshops, the 2021 – 2022 cohort worked with mentors Eric Gottesman, Heba Khalifa, Nadia Bseiso, Peter van Agtmael, Randa Shaath, and Tanya Habjouqa to culminate their months-long project explorations, with program coordination by Jessica Murray and guest critique by Susan Meiselas.

Congratulations to the photographers on their outstanding accomplishments: Ahmed Qabel (Egypt), Ameen Abo Kaseem (Syria), Aya Albarghathy (Libya), Doaa Nasr (Egypt), Ghayyan Al Amine (Lebanon), Ieva Saudargaite Douaihi (Lebanon), Lina Khlaid (Jordan), Mohamed Hozeyn (Egypt), Mohammad Kotb (Egypt), and Samar Abu Elouf (Palestine).

We look forward to sharing their projects with you in the coming months. In the meantime, catch up on work from past cycles of the program at arabdocphotography.org.
