Congratulations to our Fellows Recognized by the 2022 World Press Photo Awards
Rehab Eldalil
Congratulations to our 2021 fellows whose fellowship projects were recognized in this year’s World Press Photo Awards!
Photography and Social Justice Fellow Isadora Romero won both the global and South America open format awards for her video project Blood is a Seed (La Sangre Es Una Semilla), which questions the disappearance of seeds and loss of ancestral knowledge in Colombia due to forced migration, racism, and colonization.
Arab Documentary Photography Program grantee Rehab Eldalil won the Africa open format award for her photo essay The Longing of the Stranger Whose Path Has Been Broken, which reflects on belonging and the interconnectedness between people and land among Bedouin communities in the Sinai.
We are thrilled about this much deserved recognition for Rehab and Isadora, who produced these projects in last year's programs. Reflecting on the impact of her PSJ fellowship, Isadora shared: "This is a program that will change your career, not only in the sense of professional recognition. It is a unique, safe and supportive space of conversation, respect and creation that will allow you to take your ideas and projects to other levels you never thought possible."
