Please join us for an evening conversation with photographer and former Photography and Social Justice fellow Sim Chi Yin.
North Korea and the US are at two ends of the nuclear equation, and appear locked in a dangerous cycle of threats and counter-threats. As this year’s Nobel Peace Prize photographer, Sim Chi Yin was commissioned to reflect on the human experience with nuclear weapons, both past and present. She created the series Fallout, traveling more than 6,000 km — along the China-North Korea border and across six US states.
Chi Yin will be joined by Alex Wellerstein, a historian of science specializing in the history of nuclear weapons and nuclear secrecy, and Fred Ritchin, Dean Emeritus at the International Center of Photography.
