Join us for Photography Expanded: Counter-Histories! This year's symposium will feature projects that question official histories, disrupt the power structures embedded in archives, and explore the radical possibility of alternative narratives.
Photography Expanded is an annual event that brings together photographers, writers, technologists, students, and other creative thinkers to experiment with new approaches to visual storytelling.
Presenters include Alexandra Bell, Ariel Goldberg, Hector René Membreno-Canales, Interference Archive, Laura Wexler, Mimi Cherono Ng'ok, Nicholas Mirzoeff, Nicole Marroquin, Oluremi C. Onabanjo, Robert Pluma, Sim Chi Yin, Susan Meiselas, Tomas van Houtryve, and Village Live.
This event is free and open to the public, and seating is on a first come, first served basis.
The program is organized by the Magnum Foundation in collaboration with Parsons School of Design at The New School, and featured as part of The New School's Nth Degree Series: Creative Minds Creating Change. Supported in part by The Fledgling Fund.
